Winter Warmer

I hope you are all wrapped up warm! The Central Otago winter is well and truly here and it is important to boost our immune systems at this time to get us through illness free. A healthy diet, supplements, regular exercise but also plenty of rest and regular chiropractic adjustments are all fantastic ways of boosting the whole family’s immunity.



Eating the right sort of food is important and also very simple to do using lots of fresh vegetables loaded with vitamin C. Veggies such as sweet potato, broccoli, beetroot, pumpkin are all superfoods and excellent winter warmers in casseroles, soups and broths. Stewed fruit such as apples and pears make a wonderful nutrient-packed dessert with unsweetened yoghurt.

Keep hydrated and limit your sugar intake to help keep your immune system fighting fit.


Vitamin C, Zinc, Omega 3’s and Probiotics can all be very helpful when your immune system is under threat and are easily available.  

Exercise and Rest

Get out in the fresh air, move your body, practice yoga or meditation by the fire, embrace winter exercise! Make sure you also get plenty of rest if you start to feel run down and use the dark nights to get to bed early a few times a week.
